Dr. Berg on Roasted Seaweed Benefits

In this short video, Dr. Eric Berg gives his view of the benefits of adding roasted seaweed to your diet. Roasted seaweed is a tasty little dehydrated wafer of seaweed that provides a good amount of nutrition, he says.

The benefits of roasted seaweed include trace minerals (including iodine, selenium, zinc, and iron) along with vitamins, amino acids, and DHA/EPA (if you’re a vegetarian, seaweed is a great source of this). Just be sure to find organic seaweed that comes from a clean environment. Also, if you have a small child, you can give them a little bit of seaweed, but they shouldn’t have a lot, to avoid an over abundance of Iodine.

Dr. Berg is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. He is the author of The New Body Type Guide and other books published by KB Publishing. He has taught students nutrition as an adjunct professor at Howard University. He no longer practices but focuses on health education through social media.
