Seagriculture EU 2024 will be taking place in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands

Seagriculture EU 2024, the leading conference for the seaweed industry, will be taking place in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, from 18–20 June 2024. Under the theme, Bridging Continents, Seagriculture EU 2024 will unite stakeholders from around the world, sharing unique experiences and perspectives of experts and enthusiasts from seaweed growing countries and continents.

The action begins on 18 June with a site visit to Ocean Rainforest, offering attendees an up-close look at the production facilities and hatchery — and a view of their cultivation sites from land. Attendees will have the chance to take in a boat journey to explore the cultivation site more closely and witness a seaweed harvest in operation.

“We are excited to welcome all seaweed enthusiasts to the Faroe Islands and show them our work during the site visit of Seagriculture EU 2024. It is a unique opportunity for industry professionals to see our operations,” said Ólavur Gregersen, CEO of the Exclusive Event Sponsor Ocean Rainforest. “If you are working with seaweeds, Seagriculture EU 2024 is an event that you should not miss. Boasting a comprehensive conference agenda and prime networking opportunities, it’s an essential gathering for professionals in the field.”

From June 19–20, the conference program unfolds with five plenary sessions, two panel discussions, and the newly introduced Seaweed Elevator Pitches, offering attendees an extensive overview of industry advancements and prospects. This year’s program includes an international line-up of speakers who will share their expertise and provide attendees with unparalleled learning opportunities. Additionally, researchers will have the opportunity to present their posters, promoting dialogue among the conference delegates.

Kicking off the event will be the distinguished Høgni Hoydal, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs, Industry, and Trade of the Faroe Islands. The line-up of speakers for the conference includes Charlina Vitcheva, Director-General of DG MARE, and Vincent Doumeizel, Senior Ocean Advisor at the United Nations Global Compact. Additionally, the organizers are excited to host representatives from industry leaders such as Fermentation Experts, Unilever, Cargill, and Future Feed.

Complementing the conference program is a trade show providing a platform for companies within the seaweed industry to showcase their offerings and cultivate collaborations. Networking events, such as the conference dinner, offer further opportunities for productive interaction among attendees.

As part of continuous improvement efforts, Seagriculture EU 2024 has introduced the conference application B2Match, offering participants an efficient way to communicate, schedule meetings, and stay updated on the latest news, ensuring a seamless and engaging conference experience.

With five weeks to go, the organizers of Seagriculture EU 2024 have announced that over 190 delegates have already registered for the conference, and there are only 17 spots remaining for the Ocean Rainforest site visit. For those looking to advance their involvement in the seaweed industry, Seagriculture EU 2024 is an unparalleled opportunity in a most beautiful setting.
