Young Seaweed Generation

A special session will be dedicated to young influencers. The Young Seaweed Generation will give a rare glimpse into the journeys of exceptional young professionals who are breaking barriers, creating sustainable solutions, and exploring the endless possibilities of this incredible marine resource.

Also new this year, the organizers are offering a unique networking experience at the culmination of Seagriculture USA. Networking by the Bay is a side program offered to explore Portland and its coastal charm as well as the opportunity to commune with the other conference delegates outside the conference room.

Attendees can choose either a Walking the Waterfront Tour or a Boat Tour in Casco Bay. The walking tour includes a stop at Kelson Marine + MITC and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. The boat tour is an adventure filled with breathtaking views and a glimpse of Portland’s maritime history. Each tour will end up at the Hús New England Ocean Cluster for a final get-together.

The organizers note that Maine seaweed companies that are eligible can potentially receive a 75% reimbursement for their Seagriculture USA conference registration through the Domestic Trade Expansion Program, which is funded by the Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan through a contract with the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development.
